We're building a SaaS platform for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) domain. We're an early-stage, founder-led team looking for someone who can step in and own technical decision-making end to end: architecture, scaling, and shipping speed.
This is a hands-on leadership role, not a purely managerial one. You'll be writing code, making real-time architectural calls, and directly owning what gets built and how fast - while also mentoring a small team of junior engineers and interns.
What you'll own:
- Technical architecture and decision-making across our full stack - frontend, backend, and infrastructure
- Real-time, interactive 3D/spatial features central to our product
- Scaling our data and backend systems as we move from beta to production
- Guiding and reviewing work from junior engineers and interns - setting technical standards and unblocking them quickly
- Making fast, pragmatic tradeoffs to ship - balancing speed with long-term maintainability
- Evaluating and integrating AI/ML capabilities into the product as we grow
What we're looking for:
- 2–3+ years of full-stack engineering experience, ideally with some ownership of architecture or technical direction
- Strong proficiency across frontend and backend (React/Next.js, Node.js or Python/FastAPI, and a database like MongoDB/PostgreSQL)
- Experience with, or strong ability to quickly ramp up on, real-time systems (WebSockets or equivalent) and 3D/interactive web technologies (Three.js, WebGL, or similar)
- Comfort working in a small, fast-moving, early-stage environment with ambiguity and shifting priorities
- A track record of shipping real products
- Capability of AI/ML integration, mobile app development, or CAD/geometry-adjacent work
