About Sapiogen AI
Sapiogen AI is an AI-first software engineering company helping startups and enterprises build intelligent software products, AI-powered solutions, automation systems, digital platforms, and scalable technology infrastructure.
We are building an engineering organization where AI + human expertise enables significantly faster product development and execution.
About the Role
We are looking for a Founding CTO / Technical Co-Founder who can take complete ownership of Sapiogen AI’s technology vision, engineering strategy, architecture, and technical execution.
This is not a conventional CTO role. You will be one of the key technical leaders building the company from the ground up.
You will work closely with the Founder & CEO, Co-Founders, clients, and engineering team to turn business problems into scalable technology solutions.
The ideal candidate should be equally comfortable discussing business requirements with a client, designing system architecture, building prototypes, reviewing code, and leading engineers.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnology & Architecture
- Define and own Sapiogen AI’s overall technology strategy and engineering roadmap.
- Design scalable, secure, and production-ready architectures for AI and software engineering projects.
- Lead architecture decisions across AI/ML, Generative AI, Cloud, Data, APIs, Microservices, SaaS, Automation, and Digital Engineering.
- Establish technology standards, engineering practices, development methodologies, and documentation.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging AI and developer technologies that improve engineering velocity.
AI & Product Engineering
- Lead the development of AI-powered products, platforms, agents, automation systems, and enterprise solutions.
- Work with technologies such as LLMs, RAG, AI agents, vector databases, AI APIs, ML systems, cloud platforms, and AI orchestration frameworks.
- Build rapid MVPs and proof-of-concepts and convert them into production-grade systems.
- Drive an AI-first engineering approach using modern AI-assisted development tools.
Solution Architecture & Client Engagement
- Participate in client discovery and technical discussions.
- Understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Prepare solution architectures, technical proposals, estimates, technology recommendations, and implementation strategies.
- Act as the technical authority during pre-sales and solutioning.
- Present technical solutions to founders, CTOs, CIOs, and other senior decision-makers.
Engineering Leadership
- Build and lead the engineering team as Sapiogen AI scales.
- Mentor engineers and establish a high-performance engineering culture.
- Conduct technical interviews and help define hiring requirements.
- Review code, architecture, security, performance, and engineering quality.
- Establish CI/CD, testing, observability, DevOps, and deployment standards.
Business & Strategic Contribution
- Work closely with the Founder & CEO on Sapiogen AI’s technology and product strategy.
- Contribute to service offerings, technology partnerships, accelerators, reusable frameworks, and internal IP.
- Help establish Sapiogen AI as a differentiated AI-first software engineering company.
- Identify opportunities to transform recurring client requirements into scalable products and platforms.
Required Skills
Strong hands-on knowledge in several of the following areas:
- AI / Generative AI / LLMs
- AI Agents & Agentic AI
- RAG & Vector Databases
- Python / JavaScript / TypeScript
- Modern backend and API development
- Cloud platforms — AWS / Azure / GCP
- Microservices & distributed systems
- Databases & data engineering
- DevOps & CI/CD
- Docker & Kubernetes
- System design & architecture
- SaaS & enterprise application development
- Security, scalability, and performance engineering
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of strong software engineering experience preferred.
- Experience designing and delivering production-grade software systems.
- Strong understanding of system architecture and engineering best practices.
- Strong hands-on development capability — you should still be able to build, not just manage.
- Experience working with AI/ML or Generative AI is highly preferred.
- Strong client-facing and communication skills.
- Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to operate in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Ability to take ownership with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
What Makes This Role Different?
At Sapiogen AI, you won't simply inherit an engineering department.
You will build it.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Shape the company's technology vision from the ground up.
- Build the initial engineering team.
- Define our architecture and engineering standards.
- Work directly with founders and enterprise clients.
- Build AI-first products and solutions.
- Influence product, technology, and business strategy.
- Create reusable technology assets and IP.
- Grow into the long-term Chief Technology Officer / Head of Engineering as Sapiogen AI scales.
Compensation
Base Compensation: ₹60,000 – ₹80,000 per month
Additional equity / co-founder participation may be considered for the right candidate, based on experience, contribution, commitment, and role structure.
Why Join Sapiogen AI?
This is an opportunity to join at the founding stage and have a meaningful impact on the company's technology, products, engineering culture, and long-term direction.
If you are a builder, architect, technical leader, and entrepreneur at heart, we want to hear from you.
