Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Associate / Senior Associate in the core Real Estate practice, based in Bengaluru. The role involves advising on and executing real estate transactions, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating documents such as lease deeds, sale deeds, development agreements, and joint venture agreements. The associate will be responsible for conducting title due diligence, preparing title reports, and evaluating property-related compliances, approvals, and permissions. Day-to-day responsibilities include communicating with clients, counterparties, and external consultants, managing transaction timelines, and ensuring accurate and compliant documentation. The role also includes researching legal and regulatory issues in real estate, contributing to internal knowledge resources, undertaking registrations at the office of the Sub Registrar, liaising with statutory authorities and mentoring junior team members as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong experience (4–6 years PQE) in core real estate matters, including title due diligence, transaction structuring, and documentation.
- Proficiency in drafting and negotiating real estate contracts and ancillary documentation (sale, lease, license, development, and joint venture agreements).
- Sound knowledge of property laws, local land revenue regulations, stamp and registration laws, and relevant real estate sector regulations.
- Ability to conduct thorough legal research, analyze complex fact patterns, and provide clear, practical advice to clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
- Capability to manage multiple transactions, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Recognized law degree from a reputable institution; enrollment with the Bar Council of India and good standing.
- Prior experience with law firms or in-house roles handling real estate portfolios; familiarity with Bengaluru and Karnataka property law will be an advantage.
