About Us
As a leading provider of high-quality food and beverage ingredients, we work with farming communities across the globe to grow, source and produce ingredients that are good for consumers, farmers, and the world around us. We supply household food brands and manufacturers worldwide with cocoa, coffee, dairy, nuts and spices ingredients which are often grown on our own farms and estates and sourced from hundreds of thousands of farmers across ~50 countries. Along with our diverse manufacturing and innovation capabilities, this means we can provide ingredients for a range of products, from a plant-based latte mix to an almond based snack bar or a dairy-free ice cream. Making a positive impact on people and planet is a core component of our Purpose, to be the change for good food and a healthy future. With a deep-rooted presence in the countries where our ingredients are grown, we are closer to farmers, enabling better quality, and more reliable, traceable, and transparent supply. And whoever we’re with, whatever we’re doing, we always make it real.
Role Overview
The Finance Manager is the finance partner to the Digital & IT leadership team. The role connects financial stewardship with technology strategy, translating plans, delivery choices and supplier commitments into clear financial outcomes. It combines FP&A, investment appraisal, cost management, management reporting and business partnering, with a strong focus on forward-looking insight and constructive challenge.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic finance partnership
· Advise the CDIO and Digital & IT leadership on financial implications, trade-offs, risks and opportunities across the technology portfolio.
· Translate functional strategy and roadmaps into integrated financial plans, resource choices and measurable outcomes.
· Provide clear, concise and decision-oriented insight for senior leadership and relevant governance forums.
Planning, forecasting and performance management
· Lead the annual budget, rolling forecast and periodic outlook processes for Digital & IT, aligned with enterprise planning requirements.
· Coordinate inputs from capability or COE leads, regional finance partners and relevant business stakeholders; challenge assumptions and eliminate unsupported cost carry-over through zero-based thinking.
· Develop driver-based forecasts, scenarios and sensitivity analyses covering demand, capacity, inflation, foreign exchange, supplier commitments and delivery timing.
· Monitor actuals, commitments and forecasts; explain variances, identify corrective actions and maintain a reliable view of the full-year position.
Technology cost transparency and control
· Own a coherent view of Digital & IT run, change and transformation costs, including internal resources, software, cloud, infrastructure, managed services and professional services.
· Develop and maintain cost allocation, showback or chargeback logic where required, with transparent drivers and clear ownership.
· Establish robust controls for purchase orders, accruals, prepayments, capitalization inputs, intercompany charges and supplier invoices in partnership with Accounting, Procurement and other control owners.
· Identify structural savings and productivity opportunities while protecting service resilience and strategic priorities.
Investment governance and value realization
· Partner with initiative sponsors and delivery teams to build credible business cases, including baseline, benefits, costs, cash flow, risk, dependencies and alternative scenarios.
· Assess project and portfolio proposals using appropriate financial measures and provide an independent recommendation to decision makers.
· Maintain financial oversight from approval through delivery, including stage-gate reviews, forecast-at-completion, benefits tracking and post-implementation review.
· Challenge scope, sequencing and solution economics to improve return on investment and portfolio affordability.
Vendor and commercial finance
· Partner with Procurement, Legal, service owners and vendor managers on sourcing strategies, contract economics, indexation, consumption commitments, renewals and commercial negotiations.
· Maintain visibility of committed and contingent supplier spend, unit rates, volume drivers, contractual milestones and termination or transition implications.
· Support fact-based vendor performance and cost reviews and verify that negotiated benefits are reflected in plans and actual results.
Reporting, analytics and data stewardship
· Design a concise management reporting suite covering financial performance, portfolio economics, cost drivers, risks, opportunities and benefits.
· Automate recurring reporting and improve self-service insight using approved ERP, planning and business intelligence tools.
· Apply predictive analytics, scenario modelling and, where appropriate, AI-enabled methods to forecasting and cost insight, within applicable governance standards.
· Maintain clear definitions, reconciliations, controls and ownership so that management information is trusted and auditable.
Teamwork and continuous improvement
· Build effective partnerships across Digital & IT, Finance, Procurement, HR, Legal, regions and business units.
· Simplify finance processes, standardize ways of working and document key controls and decision rights.
· Coach budget owners and delivery leads to strengthen financial literacy, accountability and commercial discipline.
· Contribute to an inclusive, high-performing culture based on integrity, collaboration and constructive challenge.
Measures of success
· Accurate, timely and decision-useful plans, forecasts and management reporting.
· Improved visibility and ownership of run, change, committed and forecast technology costs.
· Investment proposals supported by transparent assumptions, options and value measures.
· Early identification of financial risks and opportunities, with clear corrective actions.
· Demonstrable tracking of approved benefits, savings and productivity outcomes.
· Strong stakeholder confidence in the quality, independence and commercial relevance of finance support.
Qualifications and Experience
· Chartered Accountant, CPA, CMA or equivalent recognized professional finance qualification.
· Typically 8-10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, business partnering or technology finance within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
· Demonstrated experience of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, investment appraisal and cost control.
· Practical understanding of technology cost structures and commercial models, such as software subscriptions, cloud or consumption-based services, infrastructure, managed services, professional services and project delivery.
· Experience partnering with senior leaders and translating complex financial analysis into clear decisions and actions.
· Advanced Excel and PowerPoint capability, experience working with large datasets, and proficiency with ERP and business intelligence tools. SAP experience is strongly relevant.
Preferred experience
· Finance experience in a global consumer, manufacturing, commodity, technology services or consulting environment.
· Experience with technology business management, cost allocation, showback or chargeback, portfolio governance, FinOps or benefits realization.
· Working knowledge of SQL, Tableau, Power BI or comparable analytics and visualization tools.
· Experience improving finance processes through automation, predictive analytics or AI-enabled insight.
· People leadership, coaching or team development experience.
Capabilities and behaviours
· Commercial judgement: balances value, affordability, risk and delivery realities.
· Analytical rigour: works confidently with detail while identifying the few insights that matter.
· Constructive challenge: tests assumptions objectively and is willing to make clear recommendations.
· Influence and communication: builds credibility across finance and non-finance audiences, including senior leaders.
· Ownership and pace: operates independently, prioritizes effectively and follows through on commitments.
· Collaboration and inclusion: works across organizational boundaries and values diverse perspectives.
· Integrity and control mindset: protects data quality, confidentiality and financial discipline.
· Learning agility: quickly understands new technologies, commercial models and business contexts.
