Role DescriptionThe Field Service Engineer is a full-time, on-site position based in Mysore, Karnataka, with extensive travel to customer locations across India. The role is responsible for the installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC machine tools at customer sites.
The engineer will diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and CNC control-related issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimise machine downtime. The role also involves conducting machine inspections, calibration, and preventive maintenance, coordinating with internal departments for spare parts and technical support, maintaining detailed service reports, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
The Field Service Engineer will provide operator and maintenance training to customers, support machine demonstrations where required, and build long-term customer relationships through professional and responsive technical service.
Qualifications- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, or related Engineering discipline.
- 2–6 years of experience in servicing CNC machine tools or industrial machinery.
- Good understanding of CNC Turning Centres, VMCs, HMCs, and related machine tool systems.
- Hands-on knowledge of CNC controllers such as Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Syntec is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience in machine installation, commissioning, alignment, and preventive maintenance.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, electrical schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic circuit diagrams.
- Good communication and customer handling skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively across India for customer service assignments.
- Basic computer knowledge for preparing service reports and documentation.
- Valid driving licence is preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Install and commission CNC machine tools at customer sites.
- Diagnose and resolve machine breakdowns efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance, machine health checks, and calibration.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC control issues.
- Coordinate with the Service, Applications, Production, and Spares teams for timely issue resolution.
- Prepare detailed service reports and maintain accurate documentation after every customer visit.
- Train customers on machine operation, routine maintenance, and best operating practices.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through prompt and professional service.
- Support machine trials, demonstrations, and customer acceptance activities when required.
- Follow company safety standards and ensure compliance during all service activities.
