About IKS Health
IKS Health is on a mission to enable the efficient delivery of high quality care through a combination of leading edge technology and human expertise. The IKS Care Enablement Platform enables us to deliver the chores of healthcare, across administrative, clinical, operational burdens, to enable clinicians to focus on their core Purpose: delivering great care and bringing joy and purpose back to medicine.
At IKS Health, we're redefining the future of Care Enablement and creating transformative value in healthcare by empowering clinicians to build healthier communities and enabling stronger, financially sustainable enterprises.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced FHIR Data Architect to lead the architecture of our enterprise
healthcare interoperability platform.
This role will define how clinical, claims, and operational data flows across the organization and
establish the FHIR-based Medallion Data Architecture that serves as the foundation for
analytics, AI, machine learning, and clinical applications.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience designing enterprise healthcare data
platforms and has led multiple end-to-end FHIR architecture implementations. They possess
deep expertise in HL7 FHIR standards, implementation guides, terminology services, resource
modeling, interoperability best practices, and architectural governance.
This is an architecture leadership role—not a hands-on implementation role for engineers who
have simply participated in FHIR projects. The successful candidate will define architectural
standards, establish best practices, and provide technical leadership for all FHIR-based
integrations and healthcare data platforms.
Qualifications Required
● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or a related technical field.
● 10+ years of experience in Healthcare Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Healthcare Interoperability.
● 5+ years of experience architecting enterprise-scale HL7 FHIR solutions, including end-to-end design and implementation.
● Demonstrated experience defining enterprise FHIR architecture, interoperability strategies, canonical data models, and governance frameworks.
● Expert-level knowledge of:
○ HL7 FHIR (R4/R5)
○ FHIR Resources, Profiles, Extensions, Value Sets, Code Systems, Search Parameters, and Implementation Guides
○ RESTful FHIR APIs and Terminology Services
● Extensive experience with healthcare interoperability standards including HL7 v2/v3, ICD-10, SNOMED CT, LOINC, and RxNorm.
● Proven experience designing and implementing Medallion (Bronze, Silver, Gold) architectures for enterprise healthcare data platforms.
● Strong expertise in healthcare data modeling, lakehouse architecture, dimensional modeling, and Data Vault methodologies.
● Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
● Experience with cloud data platforms such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.
● Hands-on experience with orchestration frameworks (Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster), dbt, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a FHIR Architect, not simply a Data Engineer with FHIR project experience. They should have 10+ years of experience building enterprise healthcare data platforms and a proven track record of architecting multiple HL7 FHIR implementations. They must be capable of defining interoperability standards, establishing enterprise FHIR architecture, and designing the Medallion Data Architecture that will serve as the foundation for the organization's AI, analytics, and healthcare data ecosystem. This role requires an individual who has independently led architectural decisions and established best practices for enterprise-scale FHIR implementations.
