Role Description The Fashion Designer role at Old Gene is a full-time, hybrid position based in Faridabad, with some flexibility for work-from-home. The Fashion Designer will research denim styles from different decades, develop design concepts, and create sketches and technical specifications aligned with the brand’s heritage-focused vision. Daily responsibilities include selecting fabrics and trims, collaborating on fits and construction details, and working closely with pattern makers and production teams to bring designs to life. The role also involves reviewing samples, conducting fittings, refining designs for quality and durability, and contributing to embroidery and detailing that reflect the brand’s aesthetic. The Fashion Designer will coordinate with marketing and merchandising teams to ensure collections are cohesive, on-brand, and ready for launch.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Fashion Design and Fashion, with the ability to translate historical inspiration into contemporary denim collections.
- Knowledge of Textiles, particularly denim fabrics, including structure, durability, and finishing techniques.
- Experience with Embroidery and decorative detailing to enhance the heritage and visual appeal of garments.
- Proficiency in Fitting and garment construction, ensuring accurate sizing, comfort, and structural integrity.
- Ability to create detailed sketches and tech packs; familiarity with design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar) is preferred.
- Strong research skills and interest in fashion history, trends, and vintage denim styles.
- Attention to detail, commitment to quality, and the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in apparel design.
