About the Organisation
This is an event design and management company specialising in bespoke and experiential events. The company works across weddings, social celebrations, corporate events, galas, exhibitions, fashion shows, charity events, private celebrations, and other customised experiences.
The designer will be responsible for taking events from the initial creative idea through concept development, spatial design, detailed drawings, visualisation, and production. The role requires a strong design sensibility along with a practical understanding of fabrication and event execution.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop original concepts for weddings, social celebrations, corporate events, and experiential environments.
• Create mood boards, design narratives, colour palettes, and visual directions.
• Develop complete event environments including stages, entrances, ceilings, bars, lounges, dining areas, installations, and experiential elements.
• Create floor plans, elevations, and detailed working drawings.
• Produce high-quality 3D visualisations and renders.
• Translate creative concepts into practical and buildable designs.
• Select materials, finishes, furniture, lighting treatments, and décor elements.
• Work closely with Project Managers, production teams, fabricators, and florists.
• Participate in site visits and assess dimensions, circulation, and spatial requirements accurately.
• Review fabrication drawings, samples, and mock-ups.
• Attend key installations to ensure the final execution reflects the approved design.
• Research global trends across events, interiors, architecture, fashion, hospitality, and art.
• Develop original ideas rather than simply reproducing reference imagery.
Experience and Profile
• Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, spatial design ability, and technical execution.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, V-Ray or Corona, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Knowledge of Illustrator, Lumion, or similar visualisation software will be an advantage.
• Excellent understanding of scale, proportion, materials, detailing, and spatial planning.
• Strong aesthetic judgement with a practical understanding of event fabrication and production.
• Ability to take a project from initial concept through detailed design, visualisation, and execution.
• Strong technical drawing and 3D visualisation skills.
• Ability to work closely with Project Managers, production teams, fabricators, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work quickly in a deadline-driven environment with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple project requirements while maintaining design quality and consistency.
