Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end engineering activities for Oil & Gas and power infrastructure projects, including substation design and engineering.
- Oversee electrical substation design, including layout, single-line diagrams, protection and control systems, equipment selection, and cable routing.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering functions, including electrical, civil, structural, instrumentation, piping, and mechanical teams.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, design calculations, technical specifications, datasheets, and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable IEC, IEEE, IS, and other relevant industry standards, client specifications, and statutory requirements.
- Manage project engineering schedules, resource allocation, technical deliverables, and engineering milestones.
- Work closely with project managers, clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution.
- Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, HAZID/HAZOP reviews where applicable, and risk assessment activities.
- Support procurement activities through technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, and equipment specification approvals.
- Monitor engineering progress, identify design gaps, and implement corrective actions to minimize rework and project delays.
- Ensure effective coordination between engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning teams.
- Manage technical queries, design changes, deviations, and non-conformances throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure engineering deliverables comply with quality management systems, project requirements, and applicable safety standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and design teams while promoting continuous improvement.
- Support site engineering activities, installation reviews, testing, commissioning, and resolution of field-related design issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong experience in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably in EPC, engineering consultancy, or infrastructure project environments.
