Engineering Lead – AI Platform (Hands-on)

Employment Type: Full-time
FinSpectra is looking for a highly hands-on Engineering Lead to take technical ownership of our next-generation AI platform.
This is not a pure people-management or project-management role. We are looking for someone who can design, build, troubleshoot, review code, guide engineers, make architecture decisions, and take ownership of the product through production delivery.
You will work closely with the founders and engineering team and will be expected to take a broad product vision and drive it all the way to a reliable, production-ready platform.
What You Will Own
- Take end-to-end technical ownership of the AI platform
- Convert product and architecture requirements into working software
- Lead backend, frontend, AI, integration, and infrastructure development
- Remain hands-on with development, debugging, code reviews, and technical problem solving
- Define engineering standards, architecture patterns, APIs, and development practices
- Break larger initiatives into clear deliverables for the engineering team
- Guide developers and remove technical blockers
- Review designs and code before they reach production
- Own scalability, security, performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Drive releases from development through QA and production
- Identify architectural or engineering risks early and resolve them
- Work directly with leadership on technical priorities and product direction
Platform You Will Help Build
The platform includes:
- Multi-tenant enterprise SaaS architecture
- AI and document intelligence capabilities
- RAG and enterprise knowledge retrieval
- Document ingestion, extraction, OCR, and processing pipelines
- Connectors for platforms such as SharePoint, Google Drive, Box, Amazon S3, and external APIs
- Enterprise application integrations including Salesforce
- REST APIs and extensibility frameworks
- Customer administration and configuration portals
- Asynchronous processing and worker services
- Secure regional cloud infrastructure
- Monitoring, observability, deployment, and DevOps automation
Technical Skills
We are looking for strong experience across several of the following areas:
- Strong backend engineering experience, preferably with Python
- Modern frontend development using React / TypeScript
- REST API and service-oriented architecture
- PostgreSQL and relational database architecture
- AWS cloud architecture and services
- Docker and Kubernetes
- Amazon EKS
- Queues and asynchronous processing architectures such as SQS
- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- CI/CD using GitHub Actions or similar platforms
- Kubernetes deployment tools such as Argo CD
- Application monitoring and observability
- Authentication, authorization, OAuth, and enterprise security
- Multi-tenant SaaS architecture
- Enterprise integrations and external APIs
Experience with LLMs, RAG, vector search, document intelligence, OCR, embeddings, AI agents, or enterprise AI applications is highly desirable.
Experience integrating with Salesforce, Microsoft 365 / SharePoint, Google Drive, Box, or similar enterprise platforms is a strong advantage.
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong experience building production-grade applications
- Previous experience as a Technical Lead, Engineering Lead, Lead Developer, or similar role
- Strong system design and software architecture skills
- Ability to understand an existing codebase and quickly take ownership
- Comfortable working across backend, frontend, cloud, APIs, databases, and infrastructure
- Strong debugging and problem-solving ability
- Experience leading and mentoring engineers while remaining hands-on
- Ability to make practical technical decisions without unnecessary complexity
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving product environment where requirements continue to evolve
- B.Tech/B.E. from IIT/NIT preferred; exceptional candidates from other institutions with strong hands-on engineering experience will also be considered.

Most importantly, you should be someone who can say “I own this” and take responsibility for getting the platform successfully into production.
