Electrical Head – MEP & HVAC
Position: Electrical Head – MEP & HVAC
Department: MEP / Engineering
Reports To: Vice President - Projects
Job Summary:
Responsible for leading and managing all electrical activities related to MEP and HVAC projects, including design coordination, installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, project execution, quality, safety, and team management. The role requires close coordination with mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, civil, and other project teams to ensure timely and compliant project delivery.
Key Responsibilities.
• Lead and supervise all electrical works for MEP and HVAC projects from design through commissioning.
• Review electrical drawings, SLDs, load schedules, cable schedules, layouts, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate electrical requirements for HVAC equipment such as chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, cooling towers, and ventilation systems.
• Manage installation of LV/MV systems, transformers, generators, MDBs, SMDBs, MCCs, DBs, UPS, and emergency power systems.
• Coordinate BMS, fire alarm, controls, and HVAC automation interfaces with electrical systems.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, contractors, vendors, and other MEP disciplines.
• Monitor project progress, manpower, materials, productivity, and installation quality.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, applicable electrical codes, and project standards.
• Plan and supervise testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide effective technical solutions.
• Ensure electrical works comply with HSE requirements and conduct regular site inspections.
• Manage electrical engineers, supervisors, technicians, subcontractors, and specialist contractors.
• Prepare progress reports, technical reports, inspection requests, and project documentation.
• Support estimation, budgeting, procurement, and cost-control activities.
• Participate in coordination meetings and resolve technical and site-related issues.
• Ensure timely completion of electrical works in line with project schedules.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Typically, 15–20+ years of experience in electrical/MEP projects, preferably with significant experience in HVAC-related projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, MEP coordination, HVAC electrical requirements, testing, and commissioning.
• Experience in commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels, industrial facilities, data centers, or large-scale infrastructure projects is an advantage.
