Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Educational Counsellor role based in Chennai. The Educational Counsellor will guide prospective learners through course selection, explain program structures, outcomes, and certifications, and provide accurate information about NEBOSH and other HSE offerings. The role includes responding to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person meetings, conducting counselling sessions, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all training programs and schedules. The counsellor will support applicants through the admission process, assist with documentation, and coordinate with trainers and administrative staff to ensure a smooth learner experience. Daily responsibilities also involve maintaining learner records, following up with leads, contributing to outreach activities, and providing feedback to improve counselling and enrollment processes.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain educational programs clearly and counsel learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Skills in learner guidance and counselling, with a focus on understanding learner goals and recommending suitable HSE and related courses.
- Organizational and administrative skills to manage inquiries, maintain records, coordinate admissions, and follow structured processes.
- Basic sales and customer service skills to handle leads, follow up effectively, and support enrollment targets while maintaining ethical counselling practices.
- Ability to work on-site in Chennai, collaborate with trainers and staff, and adapt to a fast-paced, learner-focused environment.
- Proficiency in using office software and communication tools; comfort with maintaining digital records and reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; a background in education, counselling, business, or HSE-related fields is an advantage.
- Prior experience in educational counselling, admissions, or training services is preferred but not mandatory; familiarity with NEBOSH or HSE certifications is a plus.
