Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Mumbai, working closely with the Founders to translate the company’s vision and business strategy into a scalable, reliable, and customer-centric technology platform. The role will play a critical part in shaping the technology roadmap and building the engineering organization required to scale FatakPay into a widely used fintech platform serving customers across India.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will partner closely with the Founders and business leaders to identify opportunities, make strategic technology decisions, and turn business priorities into products and platforms that can scale rapidly. You will own the technology vision and execution, while building a strong engineering culture, hiring and developing high-performing teams, and establishing the processes and systems required for sustainable growth.
The role will involve providing strategic direction across product engineering, architecture, technology infrastructure, security, reliability, and scalability. You will work closely with Product, Design, Operations, Risk, and Business teams to ensure that technology remains a strong enabler of the company’s growth and customer experience.
You will also oversee the software development lifecycle, guide architectural decisions, ensure robust integrations with internal and external services, and drive high standards for security, performance, reliability, and engineering excellence. The ideal candidate is a business-oriented technology leader who can operate at both the strategic and execution levels and is excited by the opportunity to build technology that impacts millions of users across India.
Qualifications
- Strong Engineering Management and Team Leadership skills, with experience guiding, mentoring, and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
- Hands-on Software Development experience, ideally in fintech or high-availability, high-scale platforms (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Node.js, Python, or similar).
- Proven Project Management capabilities, including planning, prioritization, risk management, and delivery in agile environments.
- Expertise in system Integration, APIs, and working with third-party services, payment gateways, and internal microservices.
- Solid understanding of system architecture, cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), security, and performance optimization.
- Experience building and maintaining secure, compliant systems; familiarity with financial services or regulated environments is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align technical decisions with business goals.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement, foster an inclusive team culture, and support continuous learning and innovation.
