About the Role
Desapex is a digital engineering consulting firm supporting clients across India and internationally towards technology adoption. We are looking for a digital engineering consultant who can engage directly with clients, understand how they design, build and operate assets, and recommend the BIM approach and workflows that fit them.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage clients and stakeholders to understand their design, construction and operations workflows, pain points and information needs
- Gather and document requirements, and turn them into clear BIM and information management recommendations
- Advise on ISO 19650-aligned practices: OIR, AIR, PIR, EIR, BEP, MIDP/TIDP, information containers, naming and metadata conventions, and common data environment (CDE) workflows
- Recommend BIM workflows across project stages, such as model coordination, clash management, quantity extraction, 4D/5D, handover and asset information for operations
- Develop BIM deliverables, standards and templates: execution plans, modelling guidelines, LOD/LOIN specifications and workflow maps
- Support CDE setup and process configuration, and guide project teams on adoption
- Present findings, options and recommendations to client leadership and project teams
Must-Have Skills
- Problem-solving mindset: able to diagnose process gaps and propose practical, well-reasoned solutions
- Strong working knowledge of BIM concepts and workflows across design, construction and operations
- Working knowledge of ISO 19650 and its application on real projects
- Ability to run client discussions, ask the right questions and structure requirements, with an eye for detail
Add-On / Good to Have
- ISO 19650 certification or professional training (BSI, BRE or equivalent)
- Experience across multiple project types or geographies, with a track record of past consulting or client-facing BIM work
- Hands-on modelling and model checking in Revit where needed, and review model quality against agreed standards
- Experience with CDEs and construction platforms such as Autodesk Forma/ACC, Wrench, Procore or similar
- Navisworks or other coordination and clash detection tools
- Exposure to 4D/5D BIM, reality capture, digital twins or FM/asset information handover
Qualifications
Relevant architecture/engineering degree (M.Tech/M.Arch in Construction Management or BIM is a plus)
