Role Description The Design Engineer – PHE & FPS is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for designing and reviewing Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Fire Protection Systems (FPS) for workplace and commercial projects. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and updating design drawings, layouts, and specifications; performing load calculations and system sizing; and coordinating with internal design teams and external consultants to ensure integration with architectural and MEP plans. The role involves reviewing codes and regulatory requirements, conducting technical assessments, and supporting site teams during installation and commissioning to ensure designs are implemented correctly. The Design Engineer will collaborate closely with project managers and clients, provide technical input during design reviews, and contribute to quality, safety, and sustainability standards in all projects.
Qualifications
- Strong design engineering skills with specific experience in Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Fire Protection Systems (FPS).
- Solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to building services and safety systems.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and related software used for creating and modifying PHE and FPS drawings and models.
- Familiarity with Electrical Engineering concepts related to integrated building services and coordination with fire detection and alarm systems.
- Experience in product and system design within the built environment, focusing on functional, safe, and maintainable solutions.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, fire safety standards, plumbing regulations, and local statutory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline; advanced certifications in PHE/FPS design are an advantage.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Prior experience in commercial or workplace design projects in an on-site or design office environment is preferred.
