About the Role:
We are looking for a Design Engineer with hands-on experience in Sheet Metal Design & Fabrication to join our Engineering / Product Development team.
The ideal candidate will have strong practical knowledge of sheet metal components, fabricated assemblies, 2D/3D CAD, engineering drawings, DFM, and manufacturing processes. Basic knowledge of plastic components and injection moulding will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop sheet metal components, assemblies, and fabricated parts.
- Create and modify 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
- Prepare DXF files, flat patterns, bend details, fabrication drawings, and BOMs.
- Select appropriate materials, thicknesses, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
- Work with cutting, bending, punching, welding, drilling, and other fabrication processes.
- Ensure designs are manufacturable, practical, and cost-effective.
- Support New Product Development (NPD) from concept through production.
- Identify and resolve design and manufacturing issues.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for prototypes and production components.
- Incorporate design changes based on testing, production requirements, and customer feedback.
- Maintain accurate drawings, BOMs, revisions, and engineering documentation.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase, NPD, and other cross-functional teams.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles throughout the design process.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in sheet metal manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial product design.
- Strong practical knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, Inventor, or similar CAD software.
- Experience with 2D drawings and 3D modelling.
- Basic knowledge of plastic component design and injection moulding.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Good English communication skills will be an added advantage.

- Brackets and frames
- Industrial components
- Similar sheet metal / fabricated products
Experience with vendor coordination, prototyping, NPD, and production support will be an advantage.
