Role Description The Design and Tool Room Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmednagar. This role oversees the design and development of stamping tools, dies, and fixtures, ensuring they meet production and quality requirements. The manager coordinates daily activities in the tool room, including planning workloads, supervising toolmakers, monitoring maintenance of tools, and resolving technical issues on the shop floor. Responsibilities include reviewing customer specifications, preparing and approving design drawings, optimizing tooling for efficiency and safety, and collaborating with production and quality teams to support smooth operations. The role also involves maintaining documentation, managing inventory of tooling and spare parts, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong expertise in tool and die design, precision tooling, and fixture design, with practical experience in stamping or related manufacturing environments.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in CAD/CAM software and engineering drawing interpretation, including 2D and 3D modeling for tooling and component design.
- Candidates should possess skills in tool room management, planning, and supervision, including resource allocation, workflow coordination, and team leadership.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of machining processes, maintenance of tools and dies, and troubleshooting of tooling-related issues on production lines.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with quality standards, dimensional inspection practices, and continuous improvement methodologies such as 5S or lean manufacturing.
- Candidates should possess strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Candidates should ideally have a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Engineering, or a related field, along with relevant experience in stamping or heavy-duty motor component manufacturing.
- Candidates should possess the ability to work on-site in Ahmednagar, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a safe, organized, and compliant tool room environment.
