Role Description The Deputy Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, India, responsible for supporting the overall management of production operations. This role assists in planning and scheduling daily production activities, allocating resources, and monitoring workflow to meet output, quality, and delivery targets. The Deputy Production Manager coordinates with cross-functional teams such as maintenance, quality, and logistics to ensure uninterrupted operations and timely resolution of issues. Daily tasks include supervising production staff, tracking performance metrics, enforcing safety and compliance standards, and implementing process improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce waste. The role also involves maintaining production documentation, supporting audits, and contributing to strategic initiatives that enhance capacity, reliability, and product quality.
Qualifications
- Strong production planning and line management abilities, including experience with scheduling, resource allocation, and throughput optimization.
- Demonstrated skills in team supervision, performance monitoring, and staff development within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of quality control practices, continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Kaizen, 5S), and standard operating procedures.
- Experience with safety, health, and environmental compliance, and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
- Ability to analyze production data, use basic industrial reporting tools, and make evidence-based operational decisions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Relevant technical or engineering degree or diploma in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; prior experience in automotive or power transmission manufacturing is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site in Delhi and adapt to shift or extended hours when required to meet production demands.
