Role Description The Deputy Manager Safety is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for implementing and overseeing health, safety, and environment (HSE) practices across infrastructure project sites. This role includes conducting regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company policies. The Deputy Manager Safety will plan and deliver safety training programs, maintain safety documentation and reports, and support Environment Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives. Daily tasks include monitoring workplace conditions, coordinating accident and incident investigations, recommending corrective actions, and collaborating with project teams to integrate safety measures into operations. The role also involves engaging with external stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies and contractors, to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Occupational Health and Industrial Safety skills, including knowledge of safety standards and risk control measures.
- Candidates should possess Safety Training and Environment Health and Safety (EHS) skills to design, deliver, and monitor effective safety programs.
- Candidates should possess Accident Investigation skills, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Candidates should have familiarity with infrastructure or construction project environments, preferably in transport, energy, or industrial sectors.
- Candidates should have a relevant technical qualification, such as a degree or diploma in Engineering, Safety Management, or Occupational Health & Safety, along with recognized safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
- Candidates should demonstrate strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to enforce safety standards and influence safe behaviors.
- Candidates should be able to work on-site, adapt to dynamic project conditions, and maintain high ethical and professional standards.
