Delivery Manager – Java Background
Location: Hyderabad, India
Experience - 11+ Years
Role
We are looking for a Delivery Manager with a strong Java development background who has progressed into roles such as Tech Lead, Architect, Engineering Manager, or Delivery Manager.
This is a techno-functional leadership role requiring strong technical depth, delivery ownership, customer engagement, and people leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery for the offshore Development, and Deployment teams.
- Provide technical leadership and challenge/review architecture, design, code quality, and technical solutions.
- Identify delivery risks, remove blockers, and ensure predictable, high-quality execution.
- Work closely with US-based Engineering Managers and Directors to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Engage with customers to understand requirements, resolve issues, and communicate delivery status.
- Drive metrics-based governance, reporting, and continuous process improvement.
- Build a high-performing engineering culture focused on ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Strong prior experience in Java software development is mandatory.
- Career progression from Java Developer → Tech Lead/Architect → Engineering/Delivery Manager or similar.
- Strong understanding of Java, enterprise applications, APIs, databases, and modern software engineering.
- Proven experience managing software engineering teams and end-to-end delivery.
- Ability to understand and challenge technical and architectural decisions.
- Strong customer-facing, communication, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with distributed/offshore teams and US counterparts.
- Strong Agile and delivery governance experience.
Preferred Skills
- Cloud/SaaS experience and AWS knowledge.
- AI/GenAI awareness; experience delivering AI-led solutions is a plus.
- Familiarity with Jira, Asana, Polarion, and delivery/engineering metrics.
