Data Engineer – GCP

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design, develop, and optimize scalable, enterprise-grade data solutions.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building batch and real-time data pipelines using GCP Dataflow, BigQuery, and Java, along with a strong understanding of cloud-native data architectures, distributed data processing, and data engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable batch and real-time data pipelines on GCP.
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using Dataflow and BigQuery.
- Develop robust data processing applications using Java.
- Implement data ingestion, transformation, validation, and monitoring frameworks.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and analytics teams to understand data requirements.
- Ensure high performance, scalability, security, and reliability of data platforms.
- Optimize BigQuery performance and cost efficiency.
- Handle large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.
- Contribute to the implementation of cloud-native data engineering solutions.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong expertise in:
- GCP Dataflow
- BigQuery
- Java
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and distributed data processing.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in performance tuning.
- Experience working with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
- Good understanding of cloud-native architecture and data warehousing.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Good to Have
- Experience with Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, or Dataproc.
- Exposure to real-time streaming data pipelines.
- Knowledge of DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Experience in Healthcare or BFSI domains.
