About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior SQL Data Engineer / Snowflake Data Engineer with 10+ years of data engineering experience to design, develop, optimize, and scale enterprise-grade data platforms.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional SQL development expertise, strong experience in Snowflake and modern data engineering, and hands-on knowledge of building scalable ELT/ETL pipelines across cloud environments.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Consumer Insights, Supply Chain, and Finance to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performance data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
- Develop complex and high-performance SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformations.
- Design and implement scalable data warehouse and data lake solutions.
- Build and optimize Snowflake data models and workloads.
- Manage Snowflake environments, including RBAC, virtual warehouses, security, and access controls.
- Implement advanced Snowflake capabilities including:
- Streams
- Tasks
- Zero-Copy Cloning
- Time Travel
- Custom File Formats
- Develop batch and near-real-time data processing pipelines.
- Perform query and warehouse performance optimization and cost tuning.
- Implement data models using Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and other enterprise modeling approaches.
- Ensure data quality, cleansing, governance, security, and reliability.
- Integrate data from enterprise source systems such as SAP, Salesforce, Shopify, and similar platforms.
- Collaborate with data architects, analysts, business stakeholders, and engineering teams.
- Build and maintain data pipelines using tools such as Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Matillion, dbt, or equivalent platforms.
- Develop data engineering solutions using Python, Java, or C#.
- Deploy and support data frameworks across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Troubleshoot complex data, pipeline, SQL, and performance issues.
- Prepare technical documentation and contribute to data architecture and engineering best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of dedicated Data Engineering experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience preferred.
- Expert-level SQL development skills.
- Strong experience developing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Strong understanding of SQL performance optimization and query tuning.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake security and administration, including RBAC and virtual warehouses.
- Experience with Snowflake features such as Streams, Tasks, Time Travel, Zero-Copy Clone, and File Formats.
- Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT architecture and data pipeline development.
- Experience with at least one modern programming language: Python, Java, or C#.
- Experience with ETL/orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Matillion, dbt, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing and data modeling.
- Experience with Star Schema and Snowflake Schema.
- Strong knowledge of data cleansing, quality, governance, and security.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience integrating enterprise applications such as SAP, Salesforce, Shopify, or similar systems.
Preferred Skills
- Advanced Snowflake architecture and performance optimization.
- Near-real-time data processing.
- Cloud-native data engineering.
- dbt / Airflow / Informatica / Matillion expertise.
- Experience supporting enterprise Supply Chain, Finance, or Consumer Insights data platforms.
- Experience with CI/CD and version control for data engineering projects.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should be an enterprise-grade Senior Data Engineer with exceptional SQL expertise and strong experience designing scalable data platforms. Snowflake experience is highly preferred, but candidates with strong enterprise data engineering expertise on equivalent cloud data platforms may also be considered.
