Position: Cost and Management Accountant (CMA)
Grade: Assistant Manager

About the Role
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for managing cost accounting activities, inventory valuation, product costing, financial analysis, and cost optimization initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing/Commissary, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure accurate costing, improve profitability, and support strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Accounting & Product Costing
- Prepare and maintain product cost sheets and standard costing models.
- Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to determine product profitability.
- Review and monitor actual costs against standard costs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform periodic cost revisions based on changes in raw material prices and operational costs.
Inventory Accounting & Control
- Manage inventory valuation in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Monitor inventory movements, stock adjustments, and reconciliations.
- Analyze inventory ageing, slow-moving, and obsolete stock.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain and Warehouse teams to improve inventory accuracy.
- Ensure timely inventory reconciliations between physical stock and ERP records.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare monthly MIS reports, dashboards, and cost analysis reports.
- Conduct variance analysis for material consumption, production costs, and inventory.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Present financial insights and recommendations to management.
Cost Optimization
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Support value engineering and cost reduction initiatives.
- Analyze vendor pricing and procurement costs.
- Track and report savings achieved through cost optimization projects.
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with Cost Accounting Standards, internal controls, and company policies.
- Support internal, statutory, and cost audits.
- Maintain accurate costing documentation and audit records.
- Assist in implementing process improvements for cost accounting and reporting.
ERP & Process Improvement
- Work on SAP (CO/FI/MM) or other ERP systems for costing and reporting.
- Improve costing processes through automation and standardization.
- Develop dashboards and reports using Excel and Power BI (preferred).
Desired Candidate Profile
Education
- CMA (Qualified) – Mandatory
- B.Com / M.Com (preferred)
Experience
- 4–7 years of experience in Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Finance, Plant Finance, or Commercial Finance.
- Experience in QSR, FMCG, Food & Beverage, Retail, Manufacturing, or Consumer Goods industries is preferred.
