Role Description The Consultant Ophthalmologist will provide comprehensive eye care services, including outpatient consultations, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of ophthalmic conditions. Daily responsibilities include performing eye examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests, recommending treatment plans, and conducting surgical or procedural interventions as required. The role involves close collaboration with other clinicians and support staff to ensure safe, evidence-based care and positive patient outcomes. The Consultant Ophthalmologist will also participate in patient education, documentation, and quality improvement initiatives within the department. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Moradabad, requiring consistent presence for clinics, procedures, and multidisciplinary meetings.
Qualifications
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and completed postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology (e.g., MS, DNB, or equivalent).
- Valid medical registration and eligibility to practice Ophthalmology as a consultant according to local regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in diagnosing and managing common ophthalmic conditions, with proficiency in basic ophthalmic procedures and surgeries.
- Strong skills in patient communication, counseling, and documentation, with a commitment to ethical, patient-centered care.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, supervise junior medical staff, and contribute to clinical training where needed.
- Experience in using ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and electronic medical records or digital hospital information systems.
- Willingness to participate in quality assurance, clinical audits, and continuous professional development activities.
- Previous experience as a Consultant or Senior Resident in Ophthalmology is preferred; subspecialty exposure (e.g., cataract, cornea, glaucoma, retina) is an advantage.
