Job Title – Consultant – PDI (Lights & Fans)
Engagement: Freelance / Consultant
Industry: Lighting & Electrical Products
Location: Site / Factory Visits as Required
Role
We are looking for an experienced PDI & Product Development Consultant to conduct pre-dispatch inspections of lights, fans and related electrical products, while also supporting product sourcing, development and introduction of new products from vendors/manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct PDI of LED lights, bulbs, battens, panels, street lights, ceiling fans, exhaust fans, etc.
- Check product quality, specifications, functionality, finishing and packaging.
- Verify products against PO, approved samples and technical specifications.
- Identify defects and provide Pass / Hold / Reject recommendations.
- Prepare inspection reports with photographs and observations.
- Coordinate with vendors for quality-related issues and corrective actions.
- Source new lighting, fan and electrical products from suitable manufacturers/vendors.
- Support development of new products as per market requirements and company specifications.
- Evaluate samples, prototypes and new product designs.
- Coordinate with vendors for sample development, modifications, testing and finalisation.
- Compare products, specifications, quality and pricing from different suppliers.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) from sample stage to production.
- Identify new products and technologies suitable for the company's product portfolio.
- Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in PDI / Quality Inspection / Product Development / Product Sourcing in lighting, fans or electrical products.
- Good knowledge of lighting, LED and fan products.
- Technical qualification in Electrical / Electronics preferred.
- Experience in vendor identification, sample evaluation and product development will be an advantage.
- Ability to independently conduct factory/vendor inspections.
- Good understanding of product specifications, quality standards and manufacturing processes.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Payment: As discussed at the time of Interview/ Per Visit / Per Day / Assignment Basis, depending on experience, scope and project requirements.
