About the Role
We are hiring a seasoned field collections professional to own our hardest recovery cases in Haryana. This is a specialist, individual-contributor position created for one purpose: to close the accounts that everyone else has already failed to close.
You will personally handle 60+ DPD, chronic, skip-traced, and legally escalated cases — visiting borrowers yourself, negotiating face to face, and driving the account to closure. Alongside this, you will build and maintain the company’s working relationships with local police authorities, district administration, court staff, panel advocates, and other stakeholders across Haryana, so that our recovery efforts are supported, lawful, and well-documented.
This is a self-regulating, high-accountability role. There is no team to delegate to and no managerial track attached to it. Your output is measured entirely by the cases you personally resolve — and by resolving them strictly within the RBI Fair Practices Code and the legal framework applicable to NBFCs.
Key Responsibilities
A. Hard Bucket Field Collections (60+ DPD)
• Own the assigned hard bucket end to end — 60+ DPD, 90+ DPD, NPA, written-off, and chronic bounce accounts allocated by the Collections Head.
• Conduct personal field visits to borrower residences, business premises, guarantor addresses, and reference points across assigned Haryana districts. This is a self-collection role — no agency or tele-caller support will be assumed.
• Take over "failed" cases — accounts already attempted by tele-calling, field executives, and collection agencies without result — and drive them to payment, settlement, or a documented legal outcome.
• Negotiate directly with borrowers on EMI clearance, part payments, structured repayment plans, and One-Time Settlement (OTS) proposals, within the approved waiver and settlement matrix.
• Skip tracing and address verification — trace absconding and untraceable borrowers using field intelligence, local networks, and permitted public records.
• Collect and deposit payments as per company policy, issuing valid receipts and depositing/updating collections the same day without exception.
• Asset and security assessment — verify the status, location, and condition of hypothecated or secured assets and report accurately for repossession decisions.
B. Liaisoning with Police & Local Authorities
• Build and maintain professional relationships with local police stations, SHOs, district administration officials, and other statutory authorities across the assigned Haryana territory.
• Coordinate lawful police assistance where required for field visits, repossession support, and situations involving threat to staff safety — following due process and prior internal approval in every case.
• File and follow up complaints and FIRs on behalf of the company in cases of fraud, cheating, misrepresentation, criminal breach of trust, willful default with dishonest intent, and unlawful disposal of hypothecated assets.
• Represent the company before local authorities during enquiries, verifications, and community-level escalations, and maintain the company’s reputation as a compliant, professional lender.
• Coordinate with panel advocates and court staff for case listings, hearing dates, service of notices, warrant execution, and documentation.
C. Legal & Documentation
• Drive Section 138 Negotiable Instruments Act proceedings — cheque dishonour intimation, legal notice issuance within statutory timelines, complaint filing, and hearing-to-hearing follow-up until disposal.
• Manage arbitration and conciliation matters as applicable under the loan agreement, including coordination with the arbitrator, filing of claims, and enforcement of awards.
• Support execution and enforcement actions — recovery certificates, decree execution, attachment proceedings, and (where the product permits) SARFAESI/secured-asset action in coordination with the legal team.
• Prepare accurate case files — visit reports, borrower statements, PTP (promise-to-pay) records, photographs, acknowledgements, and legal correspondence that will stand scrutiny in court and in audit.
• Maintain a live legal MIS of every notice issued, case filed, hearing attended, and order received in the assigned territory.
D. Compliance & Conduct
• Operate strictly within the RBI Fair Practices Code and the RBI Master Direction applicable to NBFCs, the company’s Code of Conduct for Recovery Agents, and all applicable Indian law.
• Zero tolerance for coercion — no intimidation, harassment, abusive language, threats, unlawful confinement, public shaming, contacting borrowers outside permitted hours (before 8:00 AM or after 7:00 PM), or any conduct that could expose the company to regulatory or criminal liability.
• Escalate rather than improvise — where a case cannot be closed through lawful means, escalate to the Collections Head and Legal for the next authorised step.
• Maintain complete audit readiness — every action taken must be documented, defensible, and reproducible on demand.

Required Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum 5 years of collections experience in an NBFC, bank, HFC, or microfinance institution, with at least 2 years in a senior or hard-bucket/legal recovery capacity.
• Proven track record in 60+ DPD, NPA, and written-off bucket recovery — candidates must be able to speak to specific case values and resolution rates achieved.
• Working knowledge of recovery law — Section 138 NI Act, arbitration and conciliation, the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita relating to cheating and criminal breach of trust, SARFAESI (where applicable), and civil execution proceedings.
• Demonstrated experience liaisoning with police and district authorities — filing complaints/FIRs, obtaining lawful assistance, and managing local escalations professionally.
• Strong existing knowledge of the Haryana market — familiarity with local geography, community dynamics, language, and the practical realities of recovery across Haryana districts. Prior on-ground recovery experience in Haryana is essential.
• Fluency in Hindi and Haryanvi; working proficiency in English for reporting and legal documentation.
• Graduate in any discipline. A degree or diploma in law is a strong advantage.
• Valid driving licence and own vehicle; willingness to travel extensively across the territory on a daily basis.
• Clean personal record — successful candidates must clear background verification, including criminal record and previous-employer checks.
What We Are Looking For
• Someone who works without supervision. You will plan your own routes, build your own case strategy, and answer for your own numbers.
• Someone with real courage and composure in the field — able to hold a difficult conversation without ever losing control of it.
• Someone who knows the difference between pressure and coercion, and never crosses that line.
• Someone who treats documentation as seriously as collection, because a well-built file wins cases.
• Someone who genuinely wants to be the person the company calls when nothing else has worked.
What This Role Is Not
• This is not a team-handling or managerial position. No reportees will be assigned, and no supervisory role is on offer.
• This is not a desk or tele-calling role. The overwhelming majority of your time will be spent in the field.
• This is not a role for anyone who relies on threats, muscle, or extra-legal pressure. Any such conduct will result in immediate termination and referral to the authorities.
Compensation
Fixed CTC: INR 4,00,000 to INR 7,20,000 per annum, offered on the basis of relevant experience, proven recovery performance, and market knowledge demonstrated during the selection process.
Performance-linked incentives are payable over and above the fixed CTC as per the prevailing collections incentive policy. Field travel and conveyance are reimbursed as per company policy.
