The Opportunity
Our client is looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to lead the design and evolution of modern cloud infrastructure and platforms.
This is a hands-on, cloud-focused role requiring strong expertise in AWS, cloud-native technologies, DevOps, automation, security, and cloud transformation.
You will work closely with Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams to build secure, scalable, and resilient cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available AWS and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Lead cloud migration, modernisation, and cloud adoption initiatives.
- Architect cloud-native solutions using AWS, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, Lambda, and serverless technologies.
- Design cloud networking solutions including VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, Load Balancers, and WAF.
- Drive Infrastructure-as-Code and automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, and/or Ansible.
- Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud automation.
- Embed security and governance across cloud environments, including IAM, KMS, encryption, logging, and monitoring.
- Drive cloud observability, reliability, disaster recovery, and operational resilience.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to Cloud, DevOps, and Infrastructure Engineers.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to define cloud architecture standards and technology roadmaps.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in Infrastructure, Cloud, or Technology Architecture.
- 5+ years of hands-on Cloud Architecture experience, with strong AWS expertise.
- Strong experience with AWS services, cloud-native architecture, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS EKS.
- Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience, particularly Terraform.
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, GitOps, and automation.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, including VPC, VPN, Direct Connect, routing, and load balancing.
- Experience with cloud security, including IAM, KMS, encryption, and governance.
- Knowledge of cloud monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
- Scripting experience using Python, Bash, or PowerShell is advantageous.
- Experience in cloud migration, modernisation, and large-scale transformation programmes.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
