Company Description Arth Early Learning Spaces is a Reggio inspired preschool founded on the belief that all children are competent, capable, and eager to learn, and that every child deserves the opportunity to experience success in school.
Arth was created as a space where learning is joyful and children love to come every day. The school’s name, “arth,” reflects the idea that children have a deep need to make sense of the world around them.
Founded by Ankur, an IIT Kharagpur alumnus and former teacher in a reggio-inspired preschool in New Delhi, Arth’s program is informed by global best practices from educators across the USA, UK, Canada, Japan, and India. The result is a child-centered curriculum for learners aged 18 months to 5 years, thoughtfully adapted to the Indian context.
Role Description The Classroom Facilitator will create a warm, engaging, and safe learning environment for young children, guiding daily classroom activities that foster curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth. This full-time, on-site role in the Kolkata metropolitan area involves planning and facilitating age-appropriate learning experiences, observing children’s interests, and adapting activities to support individual needs. The facilitator will document children’s learning through notes, photos, and displays, communicate regularly with families about their child’s progress, and collaborate with colleagues to refine classroom practices. Daily responsibilities include setting up learning spaces, supporting routines such as arrival, meals, rest, and play, and maintaining a clean, organized classroom. The role also includes participating in team meetings, professional development, and school events to contribute to Arth’s collaborative learning community.
Job Description
- Strong classroom facilitation and child-centered teaching skills, with the ability to design and lead engaging activities for early learners.
- Experience in early childhood education or related fields, preferably with exposure to progressive, play-based, or Reggio-inspired approaches.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Skill in observation and documentation of children’s learning, including maintaining records and creating learning displays or portfolios.
- Ability to manage classroom routines, ensure child safety and well-being, and maintain an organized, inviting learning environment.
- Openness to continuous learning, feedback, and professional development in contemporary early childhood practices.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Comfort working on-site in the Kolkata metropolitan area, with reliability, punctuality, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
