Role Overview
- Position: Civil Engineer (On-Site)
- Location: Hosur, Tamil Nadu
- Type: Full-time
As an On-Site Civil Engineer, you will oversee the end-to-end execution, planning, and quality assurance of villa construction and surrounding site infrastructure. You will serve as the core link between off-site planning/design teams, contractors, and field labour.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Execution & Quality Control:
- Supervise day-to-day site operations to ensure structural work and finishes align strictly with approved structural drawings, architectural layouts, and local building codes.
- Conduct daily inspections for earthworks, foundation layout, RCC work, masonry, plastering, and waterproofing.
- Monitor materials quality upon delivery, ensuring concrete mix design standards, steel test certificates, and raw materials meet structural specifications.
- Infrastructure & Drainage Management:
- Oversee external development and utility design execution, including site drainage systems, internal roads, sewage lines, and water supply networks.
- Navigate local regulatory compliance and environmental guidelines related to site drainage and land development.
- Design Coordination & Technical Troubleshooting:
- Review civil and architectural drawings before execution to proactively identify design conflicts or site constraints.
- Act as the technical point of contact on-site to resolve structural/design queries with architects and structural engineers.
- Project Planning & Material Management:
- Track project schedules (bar charts/S-curves) to ensure milestones are hit on time without budget overruns.
- Assist in quantity surveying, preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimation, and reconciliation of materials (cement, steel, aggregate).
- Verify labour subcontractor measurement sheets and running account (RA) bills.
- Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
- Enforce strict site safety policies, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance, and risk mitigation practices.
- Maintain precise on-site documentation, including daily progress reports (DPR), site measurement logs, material register, and quality check sign-offs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) or higher in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Core Expertise: Strong foundation in core civil engineering, structural design interpretation, and site infrastructure (drainage, utilities, earthworks).
- Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and civil engineering calculation tools; familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word, MS Project) for reporting.
- Field Experience: Hands-on experience working directly on construction sites, preferably on villa developments, residential layouts, or urban infrastructure projects.
- Competencies: Strong technical problem-solving skills, numerical ability, clear communication, and leadership capabilities to manage site workers and contractors effectively.
