Role Description The Civil Design Associate is a full-time, on-site role based in Thiruvananthapuram Taluk. The role involves preparing civil and layout designs for fire protection and related safety systems, including site plans, equipment placement, routing of piping and cabling, and coordination with structural and architectural elements. The associate collaborates with engineers and project managers to translate project requirements into detailed drawings, design documents, and bill of quantities aligned with applicable standards and codes. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing site data, creating and updating CAD drawings, supporting design calculations, assisting in tender and proposal documentation, and coordinating with installation teams to resolve design issues during execution. The role also requires clear communication with internal stakeholders and occasional client interactions to clarify design intent and ensure that design deliverables meet project timelines and quality expectations.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with engineers, project managers, site teams, and clients.
- Project management capabilities to support planning, scheduling, documentation, and coordination of design-related activities.
- Graphic design and graphics skills to prepare clear, visually accurate drawings, layouts, and presentations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Interior design awareness to integrate fire safety systems with architectural and interior elements in commercial, industrial, and residential environments.
- Proficiency in CAD or similar design software for civil and layout drawings; familiarity with fire protection or building services design is an advantage.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, fire safety standards, and local regulations is an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail under project deadlines.
