Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cinematographer role based in Mumbai. The Cinematographer will be responsible for planning and executing the visual style of shoots, including framing, composition, and camera movement for branded content, commercials, and digital campaigns. Day-to-day tasks include operating cameras and related equipment, collaborating closely with directors and producers, and overseeing lighting setups to achieve the desired mood and look. The role involves participating in pre-production meetings, conducting location recces, coordinating with the production team for technical requirements, and ensuring visual continuity across shots. The Cinematographer will also maintain equipment, stay current with industry trends, and contribute creative ideas that elevate the overall production quality.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Camera Operation and Cinematography, with the ability to translate creative briefs into compelling visual narratives.
- Experience in Video Production and Film Production, including familiarity with end-to-end shooting workflows and on-set best practices.
- Proficiency in Lighting techniques, with the ability to design and implement lighting setups for various moods, genres, and locations.
- Hands-on experience with professional cinema cameras, lenses, rigs, and related accessories; ability to troubleshoot technical issues on set.
- Solid understanding of composition, color, and visual storytelling principles; attention to detail and consistency in visual style.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with directors, producers, and crew; strong communication and time-management skills.
- Relevant education in Film, Media, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; portfolio or showreel demonstrating past work.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on production schedules; familiarity with Mumbai-based production environments is a plus.
