The Opportunity
Texor Energy is seeking an exceptional Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to join its Executive Leadership Team. Working directly with the Founders, the CIO will lead Texor's global investment strategy, corporate fundraising, capital structuring, project financing, institutional investor engagement, strategic investments, mergers & acquisitions, and long-term capital allocation across the company's infrastructure portfolio.
This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned investment leader to help build the financial foundation of a globally recognised infrastructure platform from an early stage while shaping its long-term growth and international expansion.
Key Responsibilities
The Chief Investment Officer will be responsible for:
Developing and executing Texor's global investment strategy and long-term capital roadmap.
Leading corporate fundraising initiatives to secure institutional capital for the company's growth and strategic expansion.
Leading project financing activities across renewable energy, transmission, grid infrastructure and electric mobility infrastructure assets.
Structuring and executing equity, debt, project finance, structured finance and alternative financing transactions.
Developing innovative financing solutions including blended finance, guarantees, insurance-backed structures, credit enhancement mechanisms and other risk mitigation solutions.
Building and managing long-term relationships with institutional investors, infrastructure funds, private equity firms, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, family offices, development finance institutions (DFIs), commercial banks, export credit agencies (ECAs) and strategic capital partners globally.
Identifying and executing strategic investments, acquisitions, joint ventures and platform expansion opportunities.
Leading investment evaluation, valuation, financial modelling, due diligence, commercial negotiations, investment committee processes, risk assessment and financial close.
Establishing and scaling Texor's investment, corporate finance, capital markets and investor relations functions.
Creating institutional-grade investment governance frameworks, reporting standards and decision-making processes.
Building, mentoring and leading high-performing investment and finance teams.
Advising the Founders on capital allocation, market expansion, strategic investments and long-term enterprise value creation.
Representing Texor before investors, lenders, governments, multilateral institutions, financial institutions and strategic stakeholders worldwide.
Ideal Candidate Profile
20+ years of experience across infrastructure investment, renewable energy finance, investment banking, private equity, project finance, corporate finance, capital markets or related sectors.
Previous executive leadership experience as Chief Investment Officer, Investment Director, Managing Director, Head of Investments, Head of Project Finance, Head of Corporate Finance or an equivalent senior investment role.
Proven track record of originating, structuring, negotiating and successfully closing complex institutional capital transactions.
Demonstrated success across corporate fundraising, infrastructure project financing, institutional equity raises, debt financing, structured finance and alternative financing solutions across renewable and Infrastructure.
Demonstrated relationships with institutional investors, infrastructure funds, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, DFIs, ECAs, commercial banks and strategic investors, with the credibility to originate and lead long-term capital partnerships.
Experience presenting investment opportunities to Boards of Directors, Investment Committees, lenders and institutional investors.
Experience establishing and leading investment teams, governance frameworks and institutional finance processes.
MBA from a globally recognised institution or CA, CFA, CS or equivalent qualification preferred.
International experience across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and North America, with an understanding of country-specific investment risks, regulatory environments and financing structures.
Must be able to originate qualified investor opportunities from day one.
Fundraising & Transaction Track Record
Candidates must have a proven track record of successfully leading and closing institutional capital transactions.
Applicants will be required to provide verifiable evidence of their transaction experience, such as deal credentials, transaction summaries or professional references (subject to confidentiality obligations).
