Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Chartered Accountant role based in Shimla. The Chartered Accountant will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable and bank reconciliations. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, managing budgets, monitoring project-wise cost accounting and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and non-profit regulations. The role will involve tax planning and filing, handling audits and liaising with external auditors and maintaining accurate documentation for regulatory and internal reporting. The Chartered Accountant will also support management with financial analysis, cash-flow planning and the implementation of robust internal controls across project and foundation activities.
Qualifications
- Professional accounting and compliance skills: Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification with strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation and statutory compliance relevant to construction and non-profit sectors.
- Financial reporting and analysis skills: Experience in financial statement preparation, budgeting, forecasting, project cost tracking and variance analysis.
- Audit, control, and risk management skills: Background in internal and external audit coordination, internal control design and risk assessment for financial operations.
- Software and technical skills: Proficiency in accounting and ERP software like Tally, MS Excel and other financial tools used for data analysis and reporting.
- Communication and collaboration skills: Ability to communicate clearly with management, project teams, auditors and regulators, and to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills: Strong attention to detail, time management and the capacity to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience and background: Prior experience in construction, infrastructure or non-profit organizations is highly beneficial. Familiarity with Indian corporate and NGO-related financial regulations is preferred.
