Role Description The Cafe Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations at the MITTI Café onsite location in Bengaluru in a full-time capacity. This includes managing staff schedules, supervising day-to-day service, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards, and maintaining a welcoming, inclusive environment for both team members and guests. The role involves coordinating inventory and supplies, managing vendor relationships, monitoring cash handling and basic financial records, and supporting training and performance development of team members with disabilities. The Cafe Manager collaborates with the leadership team to implement operational processes, uphold quality and customer service standards, and contribute to the social impact goals of MITTI Café. The position requires active presence on the café floor, hands-on problem solving, and consistent communication with stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong team leadership and people management skills, including experience supervising diverse teams and supporting inclusive workplaces.
- Candidates should possess customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to create a warm, respectful environment for guests and staff.
- Candidates should possess operational and organizational skills, such as inventory management, scheduling, and basic cash handling or record-keeping.
- Candidates should possess communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal and written communication and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the capacity to handle day-to-day issues calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Prior experience in café, restaurant, retail, or hospitality management is highly beneficial.
- Commitment to disability inclusion, social impact, and working respectfully with adults with diverse abilities is essential.
- A diploma or degree in hospitality, business, social work, or a related field is an advantage, though relevant experience will also be considered.
