Role Description The Business Development Engineer – Industrial Products role is a full-time hybrid position based in Chennai, with a mix of on-site client engagement and some work-from-home flexibility. In this role, the individual identifies and develops new business opportunities for precision machining and tooling solutions across key industrial sectors. Day-to-day activities include analyzing customer requirements, preparing proposals, conducting technical and commercial discussions, and following up on leads to convert opportunities into long-term partnerships. The role also involves collaborating with engineering and operations teams to align customer needs with feasible solutions, supporting product demonstrations, and maintaining strong relationships with existing accounts. Regular reporting on sales activities, market trends, and competitor insights is expected to help shape business strategy and growth.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to evaluate customer needs, market data, and technical requirements.
- Candidates should possess New Business Development and Business Development capabilities to identify prospects, build pipelines, and expand industrial customer bases.
- Candidates should possess Communication and Sales skills to conduct effective presentations, negotiate contracts, and close opportunities.
- Relevant experience in industrial products, precision machining, tooling, or manufacturing environments is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, or related field) or an equivalent technical qualification is preferred.
- Ability to work in a hybrid setup, travel to customer sites as needed, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic CRM tools, with strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Prior exposure to sectors such as aerospace, automotive, medical devices, or heavy engineering will be an advantage.
