Job details:
ABOUT THE ROLEEvery brand has a story. We are looking for someone who knows how to find it, shape it, and tell it in ways that people remember. Our client is a finance and business consultancy company based in Bengaluru. Their work – advisory, tax, governance, transactions, technology - is complex, technical and genuinely valuable to the founders and finance leaders they serve. Very little of it is currently written down in a way those people can actually read. That is the job. You will sit close to the company's leadership and subject-matter experts, draw the insight out of them, and turn it into content a founder or CFO stops and reads. Not campaign copy. Not trend posts. Ideas people come to trust the firm for. This is a B2B professional services role. Success is not measured in followers or viral posts. It is measured in credibility - whether the right people know the company, believe it understands their problem, and think of it when that problem becomes urgent.WHAT YOU'LL OWNThe brand voice• Define and hold a consistent brand voice across every touchpoint - social, website, proposals, presentations and email.
• Discover and tell stories that showcase the firm's people, work, clients and impact.
• Build content that earns trust and starts healthy conversations, rather than content that chases attention.
The content itself• Own the content strategy and align it to the company's business and marketing goals.
• Work closely with the company's finance, tax, governance and technology experts to turn their knowledge into accurate, clear and commercially useful writing.
• Turn complex ideas into simple, engaging and relatable stories.
• Write across formats: insight-led LinkedIn posts, articles, newsletters, client case studies, service explainers, founder-led perspectives, website copy, presentations, email sequences, video scripts and event communication.
• Build content around real client questions, market developments and business challenges - not generic trend-based content.
• Own the content calendar and keep execution on track.
Thought leadership• Create content that helps business decision-makers understand a problem, evaluate their options and see the value of expert intervention.
• Build the personal credibility of the company's leadership and senior team on LinkedIn.
• Propose the positions the company takes on social - the topics worth a view, what is worth responding to, and what is better left alone - and shape them with the editor.
Craft and accuracy• Work closely with the Senior Manager - Knowledge & Solutions, who is the associate editor on everything the firm publishes, to bring every piece to a publishable standard.
• Bring drafts to the editor in a state that needs sharpening rather than rebuilding. In professional services, an inaccurate piece costs more than a missed one.
HOW THIS ROLE WORKS WITH OTHERSYou will report to the Senior Manager - Knowledge & Solutions, who is the associate editor on everything the firm publishes. This is a role with a strong editorial partner above it: you own the ideas, the storytelling and the calendar, and the editor is your check on accuracy and technical judgement. The Knowledge & Solutions vertical works adjacent to the Growth vertical. You will work closely with the firm's Digital Marketing Specialist, who owns distribution, campaigns and performance - put simply, you decide what the company says, they decide how and where it travels. Design and video production sit with external partners you will brief.WHO WE'RE LOOKING FORYou will be a great fit for this role if you bring:• 3-7 years in content or brand marketing, ideally in professional services, consulting, financial services, technology services or another expertise-led business.
• An excellent writer who can shift tone across audiences and platforms without losing the brand.
• Comfortable interviewing a tax partner or an advisory lead and coming away with something a founder would actually read.
• Comfortable working with an editor above you - you take a technical correction well and treat it as part of the craft, not a comment on it.
• An understanding of marketing where trust matters, several stakeholders are involved, and decisions take months rather than minutes.
• Strategic in how you think, hands-on in how you work.
• Able to run several pieces of work at once without losing attention to detail.
• Curious, proactive, collaborative, and always looking for a better way to tell the story.
Helpful, but not essential: SEO fundamentals, experience briefing designers and video editors, and familiarity with LinkedIn as a professional publishing platform.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKEIn your first year:• The brand voice is consistent and recognisable across every channel.
• The company's founders are visible and credible on LinkedIn, publishing regularly with your support.
• The company publishes a steady rhythm of insight that clients and prospects share with their peers.
• Business enquiries arrive referencing something you wrote.
HOW THIS ROLE IS MEASUREDIn the first 90 days• A documented brand voice guide, in use across every channel.
• A content calendar running to a consistent, predictable publishing rhythm.
• A settled working rhythm with the editor - clear turnaround times, and a shared view of what good looks like.
• All the founders or atleast 3 subject-matter experts publishing regularly with your support.
• Volume and quality targets agreed jointly with the Senior Manager - Knowledge & Solutions, based on a real baseline.
Ongoing, reviewed quarterly• Publishing consistency: the agreed volume of insight published on schedule - indicatively 8-10 LinkedIn posts a month, two long-form articles, and one newsletter.
• leadership visibility: the number of leaderships publishing regularly, and growth in their relevant professional following.
• Audience quality: the share of engagement coming from the target audience - founders, finance leaders and professional partners - rather than total engagement.
• Content-led enquiries: the number of business enquiries that reference, or can be traced back to, something published.
• Client case studies: at least one published every quarter.
• Craft and accuracy: drafts reach the editor needing sharpening rather than rebuilding, with no factual corrections required after publication.
This role is measured on the quality, consistency and credibility of what is published - not on lead volume, which depends on distribution and spend owned by the firm's Digital Marketing Specialist.
Content and distribution share one common measure: the number of qualified inbound business enquiries each quarter. This is deliberate - it keeps storytelling and campaigns working towards the same outcome rather than optimising in isolation.
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOTThis is not a social media posting role, and it is not a copywriting desk that takes briefs and turns them around. We are looking for someone who can turn expert knowledge into trust - and trust into conversations that lead somewhere. If you believe good marketing begins with a good story, we would like to hear from you.TO APPLYWrite to hi@thechalkstory.ai with "Brand & Content Specialist" in the subject line. Please include your CV and two or three pieces of writing you are proud of.
