Role Description The BIM Mechanical Modeler is a full-time remote role responsible for developing detailed mechanical BIM models for building projects. Daily tasks include creating and updating mechanical systems models (HVAC, piping, and related components), coordinating with other disciplines to resolve clashes, and ensuring models comply with project standards and client requirements. The role involves interpreting design drawings and specifications, performing quality checks on models, and incorporating feedback from project managers and engineers. The BIM Mechanical Modeler will collaborate with a distributed team using BIM tools and CAD software, maintain organized project files, and support accurate documentation and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and practical understanding of mechanical building systems.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and BIM platforms relevant to mechanical modeling.
- Experience with Inspection and quality checks of mechanical models and drawings.
- Background in Maintenance or facility systems, with exposure to mechanical or Automotive components beneficial.
- Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD; experience with other BIM and visualization tools is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in BIM modeling for mechanical systems in building projects is preferred.
