Role Description The BIM Coordinator – Structural is a full-time, hybrid role based in Bengaluru South, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing structural BIM models, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project standards and codes. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with architects, engineers, and other discipline coordinators to resolve design clashes, maintain model integrity, and support design revisions. The role involves setting up and enforcing BIM workflows, templates, and naming conventions; preparing coordinated structural drawings and documentation; and supporting project teams with model-related queries. The BIM Coordinator – Structural also assists in quality checks, optimizes BIM processes, and contributes to continuous improvement and best practices within the firm.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in structural BIM tools (such as Revit Structure, Navisworks, and related coordination software) and the ability to manage complex models across multidisciplinary projects.
- Experience with structural design and detailing, understanding of construction methods, building codes, and standards relevant to reinforced concrete and steel structures.
- Knowledge of BIM standards, workflows, and execution plans, including model setup, data management, clash detection, and coordination across architecture, MEP, and civil disciplines.
- Ability to interpret and prepare structural drawings, schedules, and documentation with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with designers, engineers, and project managers in a hybrid environment.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project setting.
- Relevant technical qualification in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or a related field; BIM certification or formal training is an advantage.
- Prior experience in a consultancy or multidisciplinary environment and familiarity with sustainable design principles is beneficial.
