About the Role
We are seeking a goal-oriented Behavioural Therapist / Rehabilitation Psychologist to join our child development center, providing assessment, therapy, and behavioural intervention for children with developmental disabilities, ASD, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and other emotional or behavioural challenges. The role involves managing a caseload, delivering individualized and group interventions, training caregivers, and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological, developmental, and behavioural assessments using standardized tools and clinical interviews to guide diagnosis and treatment planning
- Design and implement individualized treatment and intervention plans using CBT, ABA, and other evidence-based behavioural strategies
- Deliver one-on-one and group therapy sessions to build social, communication, motor, and adaptive skills
- Manage an active caseload of children with developmental disabilities, behavioural challenges, and mental health needs
- Provide caregiver training, parent psychoeducation, and family counselling; run support groups where relevant
- Maintain detailed session notes, progress reports, and documentation to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team including pediatricians, occupational therapists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, and special educators
- Contribute to case discussions, clinical seminars, and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree/M.Phil. in Rehabilitation Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related field (or Postgraduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology)
- RCI registration as a Rehabilitation Psychologist (mandatory)
- Prior clinical experience in a child development center or similar pediatric/rehabilitation setting
- Proficiency in psychometric and developmental assessment tools (e.g., DST, VSMS, ASQ-3, M-CHAT-R, CARS, ISAA, BASIC-MR, intelligence scales such as WISC-IV, BKT, or MISC)
- Working knowledge of behavioural intervention techniques (ABA, CBT, counselling and psychotherapy)
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience managing a caseload independently (5+ years for senior-level candidates)
- Experience with projective techniques (e.g., TAT, sentence completion tests)
- Background in test development, research, or academic/conference presentations
- Multilingual proficiency relevant to the client base (e.g., English, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, or regional languages)
