About the Role
We're looking for a backend developer who thinks critically about system design, clean code, and
long-term scalability. You'll be part of a lean, fast-moving team, responsible for building and
maintaining the APIs and backend services that power our platform.
This is a high-ownership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and
takes end-to-end responsibility for the systems they build.
What You'll Do
• Develop and maintain highly scalable backend systems and APIs
• Work with MongoDB and other data stores (NoSQL/SQL)
• Design, deploy, and operate services on cloud infrastructure
• Optimize performance and reliability at scale
• Contribute to code reviews and system architecture decisions
• Collaborate with the tech team in short feedback loops to ship, learn, and iterate quickly.
What We're Looking For
• Experience: 3+ years of backend development experience
• Languages: Proficiency in Python (preferably Django or Flask)
• Databases: Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB or similar databases
• Cloud: Experience building and deploying on cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)
• Architecture: Solid understanding of API design and backend architecture principles
• Code Quality: Obsession with clean, maintainable code and modular design
• Mindset: A “tech purist” approach you enjoy building things the right way, not just the
fastest way
• Bonus: Exposure to early-stage startups, open-source contributions, or serious side projects
• Education: Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent self-taught experience
Critical Aspects
• No Vibe Coding: You can write, read, and reason through code independently. AI tools are an
accelerant, not a crutch
• System Design Thinking: You think in terms of systems, trade-offs, and scale, not just
individual features
