Role Description Automobile Service Technicians at Gurudev Motors (Škoda Dealers, Chennai) perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work on passenger vehicles, ensuring safe and reliable operation. Day-to-day responsibilities include inspecting vehicles, identifying mechanical and electrical issues, carrying out service tasks, replacing parts, and documenting work in line with manufacturer standards. Technicians collaborate with service advisors and workshop staff to provide clear updates on repair status and support a positive customer experience. The role also involves adherence to safety procedures, use of diagnostic tools, and participation in ongoing technical training. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Maintenance & Repair to perform scheduled services and corrective repairs on passenger vehicles.
- Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults efficiently.
- Candidates should possess Field Service and workshop operations skills to handle on-site inspections, road tests, and coordination with other service teams.
- Candidates should possess Maintenance planning skills to follow service schedules, maintain records, and ensure vehicles meet manufacturer standards.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to communicate clearly with customers, explain work performed, and support high satisfaction levels.
- Relevant technical qualification such as ITI/Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience in automotive service.
- Familiarity with modern diagnostic tools, service manuals, and OEM procedures; experience with Škoda or similar brands is an advantage.
- Ability to work safely in a workshop environment
