Job Description
Position: AutoCAD Draftsman – Interior Design
Experience: 3 - 5 Years
Location: Chembur, Mumbai
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role We are looking for a detail-oriented AutoCAD Draftsman with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in interior design projects to join our team in Chembur.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing technical drawings, layouts, and detailing based on design concepts provided by interior designers, architects, or project managers.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, modify, and update 2D/3D interior drawings using AutoCAD as per project requirements
• Convert mood boards, concept designs, or verbal instructions from interior designers into detailed working drawings
• Prepare furniture layout plans, false ceiling plans, flooring layouts, electrical & lighting layouts, and joinery/carpentry detail drawings
• Prepare GA (General Arrangement) drawings, elevation & section drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings for interior fit-outs
• Coordinate with interior designers, site supervisors, and vendors/contractors to ensure drawing accuracy • Maintain drawing registers and ensure proper version control/documentation
• Make necessary revisions to drawings based on feedback from seniors/clients
• Ensure drawings comply with interior design standards, material specifications, and project requirements • Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) or material take-offs from drawings, if required
• Visit site occasionally for measurements/verification
• Maintain proper filing/archiving of drawings (digital and physical) Required Skills & Qualifications
• Diploma/Degree in Interior Design, or related field
• 3-5 years of relevant experience as an AutoCAD draftsman in the interior design/fit-out industry
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and/or 3D as per role requirement)
• Knowledge of additional software is a plus (e.g., SketchUp, 3ds Max, Revit, V-Ray)
• Strong understanding of interior drawing standards, dimensions, tolerances, and material/finish symbols • Good understanding of interior design principles, furniture, fixtures, and space planning
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple drawings/projects simultaneously
• Good communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams Preferred (Optional)
• Experience in residential, commercial, or retail interior design/fit-out projects
• Familiarity with local municipal/BMC drawing submission norms for interior fit-outs (if applicable) Salary As per industry standards / Based on experience
