Role Description The AutoCAD Drafter will create detailed technical drawings and 2D/3D layouts for bathroom vanities and related furniture components, translating design concepts into accurate production-ready plans. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and revising CAD drawings, preparing manufacturing and assembly documentation, and coordinating with design, production, and quality teams to ensure feasibility and consistency with specifications. The role also involves maintaining drawing standards, updating design libraries, and supporting prototype development by incorporating feedback from the factory floor. This is a full-time, on-site position located in the Greater Kolkata Area, requiring regular collaboration with workshop and office teams.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, and preferably basic 3D modeling tools such as SketchUp or similar) for furniture or interior product design.
- Strong technical drawing and drafting skills, including dimensioning, tolerance understanding, and familiarity with manufacturing processes for wood, hardware, and finishes.
- Ability to interpret design briefs, product sketches, and architectural plans, and convert them into clear, accurate production drawings and BOMs.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple drawing revisions while meeting deadlines and maintaining documentation standards.
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with design, production, and procurement teams in an on-site manufacturing environment.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Civil, Interior Design, or related field, with prior experience in furniture, cabinetry, or interior fit-out drafting preferred.
- Basic knowledge of bathroom furniture ergonomics, fittings (hinges, sliders, basins), and practical installation considerations will be an advantage.
- Willingness to learn, adapt to evolving design standards, and contribute to continuous improvement in product design and manufacturing workflows.
