Role Description The Audit and Tax Assistant will support audit and taxation engagements for a variety of clients, ensuring accurate documentation, compliance with relevant laws, and timely delivery of assignments. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in statutory, internal, and tax audits, preparing and reviewing working papers, verifying financial records, and helping to draft audit reports. The role also involves compiling and analyzing financial data, assisting in tax computation and filing, supporting GST-related work, and coordinating with senior team members to resolve client queries. The Audit and Tax Assistant will maintain organized records, follow firm methodologies, and contribute to process improvements. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Indore.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify discrepancies, and support audit and tax conclusions.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, collaborating with team members, and preparing clear reports and documentation.
- Foundational knowledge of finance concepts and practical understanding of financial statements and their components.
- Basic to intermediate auditing skills, including familiarity with audit procedures, controls testing, and compliance checks.
- Relevant academic background such as a degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field; pursuing or completed professional qualifications (e.g., CA, CMA) is an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software; ability to learn new tools and systems quickly.
- Attention to detail, integrity, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics.
- Ability to work on-site in Indore, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines under supervision.
