Role Description The Associate Team Leader role at Mahindra & Mahindra, Tractor Division is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The role involves supervising a small team on the shop floor or within a functional unit, coordinating daily activities to meet production and quality targets. The Associate Team Leader will monitor workflow, allocate tasks, support problem-solving, and ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and standard operating procedures. Responsibilities include reporting on performance metrics, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, assisting in training team members, and collaborating with cross-functional departments to resolve operational issues. The role also requires proactive communication, timely escalation of risks, and hands-on involvement in day-to-day technical and operational tasks.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with the ability to guide, motivate, and support team members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing or production processes, preferably in electrical/electronic or tractor-related components.
- Knowledge of quality standards, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures within industrial or factory settings.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with peers, managers, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to analyze basic operational data, identify issues, and contribute to continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
- Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with productivity tools and production reporting systems.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial production, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or team lead role in manufacturing or related industries is an advantage.
