ABOUT 1291 GROUP
1291 Group provides tailored life insurance and wealth protection solutions, helping high-net-worth families and their professional advisers safeguard legacies across generations.
Founded in Zurich in 2000 and named after the historic founding of the Swiss Confederation, we embody independence, protection, and adherence to the rule of law. Licensed in over 35 jurisdictions with offices in more than 10 locations worldwide, our team of over 100 specialists brings global expertise with local insight. We partner closely with families and their trusted advisers – tax lawyers, trustees, private bankers, external asset managers, wealth planners, and accountants – never managing assets ourselves, but providing seamless, compliant insurance-based structures that integrate with existing plans.
THE ROLE
We are seeking Associate Partners / Partners to join our growing India business, with one position based in our GIFT City office in Gujarat and one based in New Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, or Chennai. This full-time, client-facing role focuses on developing relationships with high-net-worth (HNW) clients and their professional advisers, and on promoting our cross-border wealth protection and insurance solutions. We welcome applications from both experienced and early-career candidates: responsibilities and title will be adjusted according to experience, with Associate Partners following a structured path to progress into the Partner role over time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Originate and cultivate long-term relationships with high-net-worth (HNW) clients, family offices, and their professional advisers managing Indian clients worldwide.
- Drive new business development across the Indian market, including Indian diaspora worldwide, identifying and converting opportunities among HNW individuals, families, and their trusted advisers.
- Structure and articulate sophisticated cross-border wealth protection and insurance-based solutions tailored to complex client needs.
- Cultivate and manage a network of private bankers, trustees, and other professional advisers to build a sustainable business pipeline.
- Partner closely with our case management and operations teams to ensure seamless onboarding, structuring, and ongoing servicing of client relationships.
- Maintain a current, well-informed perspective on market, regulatory, and product developments relevant to HNW clients and cross-border planning in India.
- Represent 1291 Group at industry forums, client engagements, and networking events, reinforcing our standing within the private wealth community.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Law, or a related field.
- Fluent English (spoken and written); Hindi and/or other Indian regional languages an advantage.
- Experience in financial services, insurance, private banking, or a related commercial role is an advantage; more extensive client-facing experience and an established network are expected for the senior Partner position.
- Familiarity with the Indian HNW market and its regulatory environment; existing relationships with HNW clients, family offices, or professional advisers in India are highly valued.
- Client-centric mindset, strong communication and relationship-building skills, and a discreet, professional demeanour.
- Entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with the drive to build a client base and referral network over time.
- Ideally based in, or willing to relocate to, GIFT City, Gujarat. We are open to exceptional candidates based in New Delhi / Bangalore / Chennai / Hyderabad.
WHAT WE OFFER
- A position within a respected, independent global firm serving high-net-worth families and their advisers.
- The opportunity to build and deepen your expertise in cross-border wealth and insurance-based solutions in one of our key growth markets.
- Responsibilities and title tailored to your level of experience, with a structured path for Associate Partners to grow into the Partner role.
- Competitive, performance-linked compensation.
