Role Description The Assistant Professor in the Animation Department is a full-time, on-site role based at AAFT University of Media and Arts in Raipur. The role involves planning and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in animation and related areas, including lectures, studio-based sessions, workshops, and project guidance. The Assistant Professor will design and update curriculum content aligned with current industry practices and emerging technologies in animation and digital arts. Day-to-day responsibilities include mentoring students, supervising projects and portfolios, assessing academic performance, and providing constructive feedback to support learner growth. The role also includes participation in departmental meetings, academic events, collaboration on research or creative projects, and contributing to outreach, industry partnerships, and continuous improvement of the Animation Department.
Qualifications
- Relevant academic background in Animation, Visual Effects, Multimedia, Fine Arts, or a closely related field; a master’s degree is preferred, and a PhD or significant professional experience will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of animation principles, pre-production and post-production workflows, and contemporary practices in 2D/3D animation and motion graphics.
- Proficiency with industry-standard animation and design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, 3D modeling/animation tools) and openness to integrating new tools and technologies into teaching.
- Demonstrated teaching, training, or mentoring experience, with the ability to design course materials, learning outcomes, and assessments that support skill-based, hands-on education.
- Effective communication and classroom management skills, with a commitment to inclusive, gender-neutral, and non-discriminatory teaching practices.
- Ability to guide student projects, portfolios, and internships, and to collaborate with colleagues, industry partners, and other departments within the University.
- Interest in research, practice-based projects, or scholarly work in animation, media, or creative arts, and willingness to contribute to departmental and institutional initiatives
