Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Professor role in Mathematics at Erode Sengunthar Engineering College, located in Erode. The Assistant Professor will teach undergraduate and, where applicable, postgraduate courses in Mathematics and related areas, including preparing lesson plans, delivering lectures, conducting tutorials, and supervising laboratory or problem-solving sessions. Daily responsibilities include evaluating student performance through assignments, tests, and examinations, providing academic guidance, and maintaining accurate records of grades and attendance. The role involves developing and updating course materials in line with autonomous curriculum requirements, participating in academic planning, and contributing to departmental meetings and committees. The Assistant Professor is also expected to engage in research or scholarly activities, support student projects, and take part in seminars, workshops, and other institutional initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong academic background and teaching capability in core Mathematics and Applied Mathematics.
- Competence to integrate related disciplines such as Physics and Statistics into teaching and academic activities where relevant.
- Ability to contribute to Curriculum Development, including designing, revising, and updating course content and assessment methods.
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, or qualification through SLET/NET in Mathematics as per applicable regulatory norms.
- Prior teaching or academic experience in higher education is preferred.
- Effective classroom management, communication, and student mentoring skills.
- Commitment to ethical academic practices, continuous learning, and collaborative work within the department.
- Willingness to engage in research, publications, and participation in conferences, workshops, and professional development programs.
