Role Overview
Position Details
Designation: Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – ETP & Safety
Department: Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)
Location: Manufacturing Site
Reporting To: EHS Head / Plant Head
Experience: 6–10 years in the chemical or process industry
Role Purpose
To manage ETP operations and ensure workplace safety, statutory compliance, and environmental sustainability within a chemical manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
ETP & Environment
- Operate and monitor the ETP and STP in compliance with CPCB/SPCB norms
- Monitor key effluent parameters, including pH, COD, BOD, TSS, and TDS
- Manage sludge and hazardous waste handling, including manifests and disposal
- Maintain records, online monitoring systems, and the environmental register
Safety Management
- Implement HIRA, JSA, HAZOP, Permit-to-Work, and LOTO systems
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and mock drills
- Investigate incidents and near misses, and drive corrective actions
Statutory & Compliance
- Liaise with GPCB, DISH, PESO, and Fire authorities
- Ensure timely license renewals, compliance reporting, and maintenance of statutory registers
Training & Culture
- Conduct safety induction programs and toolbox talks
- Train ETP operators on safety and compliance requirements
Key Performance Indicators
- Zero non-compliance in environmental operations
- Consistent ETP uptime
- Reduction in incidents
- Timely audit closure
Qualifications
- BE / B.Tech in Chemical or Environmental Engineering
- PG Diploma in Industrial Safety / NEBOSH / ADIS (desirable, not mandatory)
- Immediate joiners will be preferred.
