Role Description The Assistant Manager role at Steel Strips Wheels Limited is a full-time, on-site position based in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. The role involves overseeing daily operations within the assigned department, monitoring production or process performance, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet delivery, quality, and safety targets. The Assistant Manager will support planning and scheduling, track key performance indicators, and implement process improvements aligned with company standards. Responsibilities include preparing reports and documentation, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations, and facilitating effective communication between shop floor teams and management. The role also requires mentoring team members, resolving operational issues promptly, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
Qualifications
- Strong operations and production management abilities, including experience in manufacturing environments and familiarity with automotive or engineering processes.
- Knowledge of quality management practices, such as standard operating procedures, quality checks, and adherence to safety and compliance requirements.
- Competence in data analysis, reporting, and use of basic productivity and ERP tools to monitor performance and support decision-making.
- Effective communication, coordination, and people management skills to work with cross-functional teams and supervise on-site staff.
- Formal education in engineering, manufacturing, operations management, or a related discipline; prior experience in the automotive or heavy industry sector is highly desirable.
- Ability to work on-site in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, manage time effectively, and adapt to dynamic production demands.
